On a sheet of graph paper, draft several grids like the ones we have studied here. Experiment with color, sub-dividing the sub-units into different shapes and rotating them to see what effects you can obtain. Select the block you like the most and repeat it time after time on another sheet of paper to form a quilt. You can place your blocks side by side, or rotate them to see what they look like. If you follow the principles given in this section, you will be well on your way to designing your own quilts!
