One of the fun things about designing with EQ is that it allows you to "think outside the box." Take a favorite block. Twist it, turn it, resize and recolor it. Set it side by side, in a traditional quilt setting, but experiment with sashings. Make it monochromatic or see what it would look like scrappy. Take another traditional block and use it as a quilt setting. The Sister's Choice block happens to be one of my favorites. In less than an hour I came up with 8 different settings I liked (plus a bunch more I wasn't too excited about, but that's ok... I don't have to sew them!). Take a look at four different examples below; the other four are included in the project file.
