As many of you know, my brother David lost his battle against CML in November 2005. In the months following his death, this quilt became my sanctuary... the place where I could retreat to - to mourn and celebrate my brother's life. (More about our story and free cancer awarenes ribbon patterns here.)
Although I found it hard to part with this quilt, even temporarily, my family encouraged me to enter it into the "Do you EQ? contest.... and well, I guess they were right, because it was honored with a second place prize in the Single Maker Category.
This quilt is entirely handmade (piecing, appliqué, dimensional flowers and hand quilting). The finished quilt measures 71 x 71".

BEAUTIFUL...HAVE YOU THOUGHT ABOUT SELLING THE PATTERN TO RAISE MONEY FOR CML? I WOULD BUY ONE.

Possible pattern?
That's a wonderful idea... however, more than a pattern, it would have to be a book! The quilt combines piecing with traditional and dimensional appliqué and is pretty involved... would take oodles and oodles of pages...
