Yo-Yo Earrings

Thoughtful, hand-made gifts do not need to be extremely elaborate or difficult to make. Here are a couple of ideas for some fun earrings any young lady will be delighted to wear. This is a great stocking stuffer!

Here are two easy ideas, but don't limit yourself to only these two. This is a chance to play around and experiment, and make each set unique!

For this first pair of earrings, simply take a fabric yo-yo (any size you like!) and sew beads around the edges. Sew a button or large bead in the center of the gathers, and attach to an earring wire. Can't get easier than that, yet these sure are fun!

For my second pair of earrings I used 1-inch square yo-yos. I took a three-strand length of embroidery floss and tied a large knot in the middle (you may have to knot it several times to make it large enough). I then threaded the six strands of floss so that the knot was left at the bottom. I then threaded a tiny silver bead, a small green bead, a large glass bead, a ribbon made of metallic gold ribbon, and a second green bead. I then threaded the yo-yo and another green bead at the top, tying the thread off and loosing it inside the yo-yo. The earring wire was then attached through the top green bead. Pretty easy and what a nice result!
