This is a super easy quilt... easy enough for a child to make. All you have to do is cut out the appliqué pieces and sew them on each block without turning the seams. This is what is known as raw edge appliqué.
To sew the quilt, you can follow the instructions given in the Rag Quilt Tutorial. In the attached file you will find the templates for the heart, star, and snake, along with a layout guide for the quilt and a picture sequence of how to make this quilt. But you can make your quilt any size you want. For our quilt we used 10" blocks (cut at 11"), but you can change that.
