Corner and Edge Treatments

In the classic Cathedral Windows corners and edges are left "as is," but you might want to finish them in a slightly different way. Here are some options:

You can leave the corner and edge sections around the corner section unturned to give the design a straight-edged frame:

Or you can fold back the corners and edges without adding any extra fabric for a partial window look. If you decide for this option, however, be careful when folding them back to keep the corner square.

You can also extend the windows to the outer edges by trimming the window squares, folding them over the edge onto the back of the quilt and sewing them in place on the back:
