Adding Windows

As in the case of rectangle blocks, you will need to make window templates once your different background blocks have been joined.

1. Stitch your background blocks together (once again, it is your choice if you whipstitch the units together (tutorial on The Basic Square Block),  or use the Modern Approach to join all background blocks before tacking the centers of each unit).

2. Trace the four-sided shape formed over two adjoining envelopes (the area that will be covered by the window fabric). Trim the shape down about 1/8”. Use this template to cut your window fabric.
