Choosing the Fabrics

The Grandmother’s Flower Garden consists of a "flower" made up of 19 individual hexagons: 1 hexagon in the center, 6 in the second round that represent the flower petals, and 12 in the third round that represent the leaves. Traditionally a fourth round in a light fabric is added to represent the stepping stones in the garden. (There are also other variations where more rounds are added.)

Depending on the project you have in mind, you will have to calculate the same amount of fabric for each side of your quilt. You can let your imagination loose and plan a different color scheme for each side:
