Use odd or mismatched shank buttons to make special fabric buttons to coordinate with the fabrics in your project! For this, simply go through your button collection and choose those with shanks and a smooth top. Making this button is as easy as 1-2-3!

1. Cut a circle of fabric large enough to cover the front of the button and the back up to the shank.

2. Sew a long running stitch 1/8" from the edge.

3. Gather the edges up tightly and knot securely.

You're done! Keep practicing and making many more lovely fabric buttons.
